Ending homelessness one tiny house at a time
The tiny house movement has taken the nation by storm as more people are choosing to downsize for liberties of debt and materialism. But can these small structures contribute to a chronic issue throughout the United States? Think Tiny explores the issue of homelessness and how it can be used as part of a solution to end homelessness while inciting action from its visitors.

the concept
We’re often told to think big, bigger is better, to reach for the stars. But what if the solution to a problem of such magnitude is compacted into a 140 square foot structure? Think Tiny explores how physically small structures can help solve a large and systemic issue. Throughout the exhibit there is juxtaposition between BIG and tiny both visually and in copywriting.
the narrative
The exhibit begins with an introduction to the epidemic of homelessness in America. This first part features both statistics about homelessness and people who are homeless with hopes of reaching local officials and community members alike. As you. Continue through the exhibit, the exhibit talks about the tiny house moment and how across the nation tiny homes are the new big thing in housing. Finally, you enter the part that explains how tiny homes can be used as a part of a plan to help end homelessness. Throughout the exhibit, it is reinforced that homelessness is a part of a wider systemic issue, not an isolated problem.
